Bored with being stuck in my head so I thought I’d compile a list of my favorite things to cheer myself up and try to make a purposeful effort at redirecting my thoughts.
writing to-do lists and adding things I’ve already done just to cross them off
online window shopping for vacations to places I will likely never go
shopping for houses in other countries like I’ll eventually live there or something
looking up jobs online like some magical, perfect position might pop up out of nowhere just for me
planning itineraries for road trips we may or may not ever take
window shopping on Amazon, adding things to my ‘wish list’ and then never buying them
creating a happenin’ new cocktail that sells like hotcakes straight off the griddle
paying bills on payday
putting my tips into the tattoo fund or savings account after a big weekend at work
watering my plants on the front porch (when I remember)
watching my kids interact when they don’t know I’m watching
petting and snuggling my (persnickety) cat
fresh sheets and shaved legs
a clean bedroom (including a cleared off dresser and nightstands)
a freshly mopped floor
an empty hamper
sunshine~ lots of sunshine
the smell of my favorite incense, candles or wax melts throughout the house
my antique sideboard
lazy days in bed watching TV or movies with the love of my life
fourteen cups of iced coffee (well, maybe not fourteen, but damned close)
road trips with the kids in tow
my favorite coffee/tea mugs
a clean car
date days
